New Year Plan and Christmas Celebration! 집떠나 맞이하는 성탄소식
First Christmas without having family nearby. It was quite odd to my family and myself also. more than 70% of population are Christian and many churches. Until now I have been placed like that much small but condensed Christian community. Here and there there were so many celebration for Christ's birth, "Happy Christmas!" "Merry Christmas!".
However, it looked to me too much celebration only amongst churches and believers.
가족을 떠나서 보내는 성탄은 처음이었고 나 자신이나 가족에게 꽤 어색한 것이었다. 그곳은 최소한 70%가 기독교인인 지역이었고 많은 교회가 있는 지역.. 지금껏 그렇게 작은 지역에 교회가 많고 성탄절로 가득찬 곳을 본적은 없는 곳이었다. 이곳 저곳에 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 축하하는 '행복한 성탄 되세요!' '즐거운 성탄입니다!' 라는 소리로 가득한 곳, .. 그런데, 그 성탄 축하는 마치 믿는 자들과 교회내부에서만 율려퍼지는 것이 아니되어야 하겠지.. 라는 생각을 해본다.
Non-believers were not to be considered as invitee or guest even.. That was a bit sad one in that area.
Not very cold, because of that temperature, no heating system and housing also is very simple. that area is quite high and village, and also sunset time is around 5 pm. Just after simple dinner, we used to gather around fire place in very shabby kitchen.
Christmas gift sharing
Visiting Nepali village which is quite remote from the town center gave us a very meaningful Christmas. We selected a village for Nepali, non believing community. All together only around 10 houses and due to their preference, they live quite far from each other. Normally cattle rearing and milk production and farming vegetables etc.
New Year Plan
From January, plan for training for different group and different trainings. January month was not so fit to North East situation. Their arrival was very delayed due to lack of transportation means frothier remote village to bigger town and cities, so we started a bit late and then Mission Exposure Trip program has been after second week with 6 people all together. Biblical Perspectives and Sharing those learning material amongst trainees and then we took area reserch and evangelism activities in University and towns in Guwahati. And also we hope to purchase land for longer term usage in Senapati to build simple buildings for hostel, training and as our village multiplication movement.
FMTC Training and Commissioning
Training schedule: May- 1 month FMTC, June - Sep: Mission Team setting and Team building process, November- second time one month FMTC and then there will be couple of teams to be sent to other mission fields. Potential mission field would be a couple of places within India, Myanmar, Nepal and/or Bangladesh etc... These will be team sending as group of workers consists 4-5 members in collaboration with their own home churches and associations and denominations.
Faith Hostel
We begins our hostel new season of having more students which we target around 20 students to serve them and disciple them while they stay in hostel for their better study.
